BACKGROUND

CODE Hospitality has been around for years offering a specialized tool to provide exclusive discounts and offers to individuals employed in the hospitality industry. Their services include a mobile app for discovering these offers and a web app with a backend for offer management and user profile creation.

TECH CHALLENGES

Despite its successful operation in the primary UK market, the company faced a significant challenge with their CMS built on .NET. This limited their offer management and prevented their expansion to other markets.

IMPLEMENTATION CHALLENGES

We had to find a way to launch a new platform and a new mobile app while streaming data from the old system and making sure the members using the old version of the app will be migrated gracefully. 

In order to do this, we implemented a live integration with the old system so the initial backend was acting a bit like a proxy. After the initial phase of user migration, we cut the old database and server the users 100% from the new system.

OUR SKILLS IN ACTION

Our intervention focused on two crucial aspects: 

Mobile App Upgrade: We rewrote the mobile app to ensure optimal performance across various devices, improving the user experience. 

Custom Backend Creation: We developed a custom backend that made the company’s international business expansion possible. The new system allows offers to be assigned to specific regions or city areas, with designated administrators for each location. The ability to differentiate between time zones and filter data was one of the most valuable updates. 

The app is currently used by more than 50,000 users and we’re happy to have contributed to the company’s success.
